As you can see from my new web banner, the book jacket for my new book BOYOLOGY: A Teen Girl’s Crash Course in All Things Boy is done! The book isn’t on sale yet (just a few more months until May!) but I’m working with my amazing publisher, Chronicle Books, to set up my tour dates and events and should have more details soon.
In the meantime, here’s just a hint of what’s actually in the book:
- B-O-Y basics
- Determining which “breed” of boy you’re dealing with
- Figuring out first dates and the rest of the dating game
- Setting your boundaries
- Outside forces: friends, parents, and other factors
- Boy friend vs. boyfriend (there is a MAJOR difference!)
- Breaking up, getting back in the game, and much more
And of course, quotes from real girls (and guys!). One of my personal favorites:
“Girls aren’t the only ones who can feel nervous about being in a swimsuit. Guys are expected to look like Vin Diesel.” – Gabe, 18 (from the B-O-Y Basics chapter)
More BOYOLOGY news to come!

Looks great–love the artsy new look. Am I going on tour with you?
Now here’s a book I could learn a lot from.
I would love to have you read the galley and let me know what you think. Want me to send you one?
xxx Sarah
Ooh. That would be wonderful.
Do you still have my address?
Love the book! Just fabulous!
Hi Sarah.
I got an advanced copy, for promotions and all, of your new book, Boyology.
It’s awesome! The jacket is awesome too! I’ve just started Boyology, and I already love it! It’s so helpful! I wish I could ask you questions though!
Maybe you can help me out and answer one question?
My crush and I hang out and stuff, always in groups of people, and I feel like I bother him. I don’t want to scare him, but I think I am. I’ve been to my crush’s house once for a small, get this, Super Smash Brothers Brawl tournament (hahaha!) and participated, and I’ve been to a pasta dinner for my swim team at his house, and I’ve helped him with a project. But, I feel like I invite myself over, and he’s unenthusiastic about it? He’s invited me to a future tourney party and to help him with another project. Am I bothering him? Should I give him more space? He’s told me personal stuff about his past relationship, (The breakup was MESSY), and we’ve known each other for years. We have dated once, and I broke up with him. Did I mess everything up? We were in junior high though, and it’s well past us, I hope. But the other problem is, is that there’s not any physical contact. We don’t hug, or anything. Sorry for barraging you! But, as you can tell, I’m very confused. Please help me!
